Helene L. Ricker, 88, of Kingston, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her home with her son, Eric, at her bedside.
She was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Aaron and Mae Lampfield, both deceased, and sister of Lorraine and Stanley.
She married Charles W. Ricker in 1943, and they enjoyed 54 years together until his death in 1998. She attended Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich., and graduated from Albion College in Albion, Mich., in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art and education. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
She was a respected artist and potter in the local art community and a longtime member of The Foothills Craft Guild.
She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Kingston.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ricker Ford and grandchildren J. Aaron Ford and Emily Ford, all of North Canton, Ohio; son, Eric Charles Ricker, Kingston; a sister, Lorraine Beitchman; and brother, Stanley Lampfield, both of Philadelphia.
The funeral was heldFriday, March 1, in Bethel Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Wendy Neff officiating. A graveside service followed at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston,was in charge of arrangements.
