Praise Chorus: “Awesome God” Mullins
Chiming of the Hour
Invocation Reinhold Niebuhr
Eternal God, Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, we worship you. Your wisdom is beyond our understanding, your power is greater than we can measure, your thoughts are above our thoughts; as high as the heaven is above the earth, your majesty judges all human majesties. Your judgment brings princes to naught, and makes the judges of the earth as vanity; for before the mountains were brought forth or ever the earth and the world were made, even from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Give us grace to apprehend by faith the power and wisdom which lie beyond our understanding: and in worship to feel that which we do not know, and to praise even what we do not understand: so that in the presence of your glory we may be humble, and in the knowledge of your judgment we may repent; and so in the assurance of your mercy, we may rejoice and be glad. Amen.

Offertory Sentence The Methodist Shorter Book of Offices
O Lord God, Holy Father… I am no longer my own, but Thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee; let me be full, let me be empty; let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. Amen.
Offertory: “Lord, When You came to Jordan” Genevan Psalter
Lord, when You came to Jordan and asked to be baptized,
What was Your vow and vision of love and sacrifice?
Was there a sudden splendor of prophets, priests, and kings,
a wind that stirred the Waters, a blur of might wings?
