When we pray the Lord's Prayer at Bethel, we say "sins...sin against us" rather than "debts..." or "trespasses..."; during "a time for sharing" we welcome prayer requests from the congregation. Dear God, we confess that we have hurt other people’s feelings and done things that are displeasing to you. We have followed after shallow ideas instead of what you want; we have spoken words in anger and practiced jealousy and hatred; we have not shared with others who are in need. Forgive us when we conform to society, and help us to be more like the way you made us to be. Grant us your compassion and peace that surpasses all understanding. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

Bethel offers Sunday school for children and four educational opportunities for adults at 9:45 AM. Childcare (babies and preschool age) is offered at 9:45 and 11 AM. Restrooms are located in our Educational Building, first floor and lower level. Ushers can provide large print hymnbooks and activity sheets for children.

A SPECIAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE today 5 p.m. by our own Dianne Griffith, Mary Ann Hensley, and Caleb Sherrod who will offer an afternoon recital in Bethel’s sanctuary. Afterwards, participants in this year’s mission trip to New Mexico will host a fundraiser dinner in the Fellowship Hall. Come and invite your friends and family! Food provided; donations welcomed.
NEXT SUNDAY IS PENTECOST! We will receive the Pentecost Witness Special Offering. We encourage you to wear red in honor of this special day.
OUR 5TH SUNDAY HEALING & WHOLENESS SERVICE will be next Sunday, 9 a.m. in the sanctuary. Next Sunday Evening Bethel will lead a service of worship with Holy Communion at the Morgan County Correctional Facility.
CONGRATULATIONS TO AMY EVANS upon her graduation from UT Chattanooga. She will enter Washington University (St. Louis) Master’s Program Social Work in the fall.
