Sunday Morning Worship Service
November 9, 2003
TO OUR GUESTS, we extend a warm welcome. We invite you to participate in signing our Friendship Folder, adding your address and phone number if you'd like to receive our church newsletter or a pastoral call. When we pray the Lord's Prayer at Bethel, we say "sins...sin against us" rather than "debts..." or "trespasses..."; during "a time for sharing" we welcome prayer requests from the congregation. On first Sundays each month, all who put their trust in Christ and who have received baptism in any Christian church are invited to share his sacred meal. We are glad you are with us. Please come again.
THE SERVICE FOR THE LORDS DAY
Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
November 9, 2003
GREETING, WORDS OF WELCOME, RITUAL OF FRIENDSHIP, AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
This is the day that the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

CALL TO WORSHIP
The earth and all that is in it belongs to God.
God has created all things on the earth below and in the heavens above.
God has established the day and the night, created the seasons, and given us this day to be alive.
We praise the Holy God for these many blessings.
We open our hands to receive Gods good gifts.
We offer our lives in gratitude to God.
PRAYER OF THE DAY
*HYMN # 264 When In Our Music God Is Glorified Engelberg
*A TIME OF SILENT REFLECTION
*UNISON CONFESSION OF SIN
Gracious God, we confess that we do not live lives of rejoicing. We are afraid to give of what you have given us. We do not find our joy in your service. We do not find our hope in the sacrifice of love for which you ask. We think of ourselves and feel impoverished. We think of others and feel nothing. We repent, Loving One, and ask for your mercy. Turn us from selfish ways to loving ways so that we may begin again. Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Hear and believe the good news: God, whose love for us is endless, reaches out to us again and again. As often as we turn to God, God is ever turned toward us. The apostle Paul reminds us there is nothing that can separate us from Gods love; neither heights, nor depths, nor angels, nor rulers, nor anything else in all of creation. Let us be glad in this great love and know we are forgiven.
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
