**Christian Education Committee**

[The following charter was approved by Bethel's Session in the fall of 2001. The present duties may vary slightly from those that are shown. Bethel is currently undertaking a "visioning" process in order to better discern God's future for our congregation. At the culmination of that process, this charter will be revisited.]
Purpose:	To provide opportunities for Christian Education to children and adults through weekly Sunday School classes and various learning activities throughout the year.
Duties:	• Select, order and distribute curriculum • Recruit teachers for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School • Plan Vacation Bible School program • Oversee Youth Fellowship program • Plan Youth Confirmation Class yearly, in conjunction with the Pastor • Provide coloring pages and reading material for children during worship service • Plan The Fat Tuesday celebration • Plan Hanging of the Greens activities • Oversee The Christmas Pageant • Make and maintain costumes for the Christmas pageant and outdoor manger scene • Plan Rally day celebration • Maintain resource room (supplies etc.) • Maintain the library • Oversee the committee’s expenditures against budget and Special Funds expenditures
