| • Organize, coordinate and carry out seasonal expressions of love and compassion for the less fortunate around us
• Oversee all Mission Outreach Funds to meet community needs and to insure appropriate use of designated funds
• Provide facilities, staffing and support (donations of food/cash) for a joint Food Pantry in cooperation with Redeemer Lutheran Church and Young’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church [Web Editor Note: this duty has changed to one of providing food and volunteers to the community food pantry - Hands of Mercy Enterprises. • Coordinate congregational participation and encourage congregational support for other community based service organizations
• Encourage cooperative efforts among community churches and groups to address other unmet spiritual, physical, and social needs in our region
• Serve as a clearinghouse and facilitator for new mission ideas of individual church members or groups
• Encourage promotion of and publication and education about Bethel’s local and regional mission activities and needs
• Serve with the Evangelism Committee as liaison with missionaries directly supported by Bethel
• Oversee the committee’s expenditures against budget and Special Funds expenditures
