Parish Life Committee

[The following charter was approved by Bethel's Session in the fall of 2001. The present duties may vary slightly from those that are shown. Bethel is currently undertaking a "visioning" process in order to better discern God's future for our congregation. At the culmination of that process, this charter will be revisited.] 

 

Purpose: To plan, carry out, and evaluate a broad range, year-round spectrum of programs designed to build up the Bethel Church family through fellowship and member care.
Duties: • Encourage involvement in Sunday School, Fellowship Suppers, etc.

• Ensure Newspaper coverage of Bethel events

• Submit New member write-ups to the Open Door Newsletter

• Maintain pictorial directory (update regularly)

• Host and/or plan the following events:

  Mother’s Day Lunch
High School Seniors Tribute
Church Picnic
Christmas Caroling
Fellowship Sundays - 2nd Sundays
Cumberland Playhouse Trip
Church Family Hike
Christmas Party (with pageant)
Fellowship Suppers - 3rd Wednesdays
Fun Lunches - 2nd Tuesdays

• Plan crisis food in the event of death or serious illness

• Host member wedding receptions

• Send Get Well and Sympathy cards

• Maintain Bethel Scrapbook and photo album

• Distribute New Member Packet

• Oversee the committee’s expenditures against budget and Special Funds expenditures
